6-20-01 Show # 1

The "Wendy, I’m home” Show.

Indeed I am.

Back on the radio.

In the Northeast.

WMPG Radio, in Portland, Maine to be exact. The name of the show? “Mainely Dead”. This time, it’s only two hours long. But that’s ok, because as always, each week, you’ll get to hear, and tape, a full, uninterrupted set of LIVE music … primarily from The Grateful Dead, but, with a little help from our friends … quite a few other bands as well.

Allow me to welcome our new listeners, as we continue to pick up from where we left off on the old show “Area 51”, heard on KFAI Radio in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

It’s all very self explanatory. That is … the more you listen, the more you will figure out the routine. If you like this music, or if you have a friend who does, give me one week. That’s all I ask. I don’t need anymore than that. If you’re not sold on what “Mainely Dead” has to offer, just pass it by … however … if you need it … believe it.

That’s right. “Mainely Dead” is not unlike a Box Of Rain …

“Believe it if you need it, if you don’t just pass it by”.

One last request though … if you do pass it by … make sure to pass it on. You know what we look like … when you see us passing on the street, pull us aside and make mention. Something like this:

“Excuse me, but I couldn’t help but to notice your bare feet, long hair, comfortable attire, and implausibly unrealistic smile. I just thought I’d let you know … there’s a show on the radio that you might as well want to know about. It’s called “Mainely Dead”, and it airs every Wednesday from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM EST, on WMPG Radio in Portland, Maine. It can also be heard live by visiting www.wmpg.org .”

Just keep an eye out for the host. His sense of humor is a bit odd, and you’d never guess it was he who hosts that show if he crossed your path on the street.

“Shall we go?

You and I.

Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds … … … “
